Bits and Bobbins

I work from home, making Faery Clothing (for real, grown people, I should add – not imaginary pieces of gossamer for the Faery folk that live in my head), bags and purses and accessories and pretty much whatever I feel like making.

Craft feels entirely natural to me. For most of my childhood we didn’t have a TV, so whilst other kids were watching the presenters of Blue Peter and Why Don’t You? get busy with the squeezy bottles and double-sided-sticky-tape, I was cutting up hideous magenta jumpers to make poms poms for scarves and dismantling (I’d like to use the word transforming here but that really would be optimistic and not entirely accurate) jeans to make skirts. I suppose it was simply a matter of time before I decided to try to make a living at it 🙂

It’s a good life. In fact, this is the best job I’ve ever had (yes, even considering the yearly tax return and even in comparison to the job where free cake was the norm).
